MSC Virtuosa - Northern Europe - Embarkation, food and day at sea

Welcome to the first two days of our latest vlog series onboard MSC Virtuosa. Join us as we board in Southampton for a 7-night Northern European cruise in a Yacht Club Deluxe Suite!

On arrival in Southampton, we are met by Yacht Club staff who escort us through security, the check in process, and onto the ship. We take a few minutes to relax in the Top Sail Lounge in the Yacht Club area to have a quick drink before being escorted to our cabin.

The cabin was beautiful, plenty of storage, large bathroom with a walk in shower, and a large living space with a table, sofa, desk and chairs too. Once we unpacked and got our selves organised in the cabin we took a quick look around the outdoor Yacht Club areas, on deck 19 you can find the Yacht Club pool, whirlpool, grill and bar, the sun deck, and some private cabanas.

Dinner in the Yacht Club Restaurant was lovely, and some of the finest food we have had onboard a ship so far in our cruising experience. We had a brief walk in the evening around the ship to explore and to burn off some of that dinner.

As we sail into day two, we head back to the Yacht Club Restaurant for a bite to eat for breakfast, and yet again, amazed at the food quality onboard.

We decided to take a quick jump in the pool on Deck 19, it was very quiet! The whirlpool however is very lively, and I don’t mean with passengers, I mean with the height of the water jets! head to The Carousel Lounge for a quiz hosted by the entertainment director, but sadly we done appallingly! Oh, and we also managed to pick up an MSC duck for our collection.

Afternoon tea was served in the Top Sail Lounge between 3:30-4:30pm most days, so we took the chance to see what it was like. In the evening we headed back to the Restaurant for our dinner, then took a stroll down to the Galleria Virtuosa before heading into the theatre to watch ‘Big Apple’.

Finally, we head back into the Top Sail Lounge once more for a night cap. The staff working in the lounge were always excellent and professional, and by the end of the cruise they knew exactly what drinks we wanted. Snacks were also served in here too alongside the drinks, and just like how the staff knew your drinking preferences, they also learned your snack choices, so we were always greeted with a drink and a side of crisps! Perfect.

We hope you enjoy watching the first of our vlogs onboard MSC Virtuosa, join us next time as we explore Hamburg and visit the Miniatur Wunderland.
